Ingredients
Scale
- 4 salmon fillets (about 6 ounces each)
- 1 teaspoon minced garlic
- 1/2 teaspoon minced ginger
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1 tablespoon low-sodium soy sauce
- 2 tablespoons chili sauce (such as Heinz)
- 1 teaspoon brown sugar (optional)
- A pinch of crushed red chili flakes
- 1–2 teaspoons sriracha sauce (adjust to taste)
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 1/2 teaspoon paprika (mild, smoky, or spicy)
- Chopped chives for garnish
Instructions
- Prepare the Marinade:
- In a shallow bowl, whisk together the minced garlic, minced ginger, olive oil, soy sauce, chili sauce, brown sugar, red chili flakes, and sriracha until well combined.
- Marinate the Salmon:
- Season the salmon fillets with salt, pepper, and paprika.
- Place the salmon in the marinade, ensuring each fillet is thoroughly coated.
- Cover the bowl with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 2 hours, or overnight for a more intense flavor.
- Cook the Salmon:
- Preheat your oven to 370°F (190°C).
- Heat a small amount of oil in an oven-proof skillet over medium heat.
- Sear the salmon fillets for 2-3 minutes on each side until they develop a crispy crust.
- Transfer the skillet to the preheated oven and bake for 8-10 minutes, or until the salmon flakes easily with a fork.
- Serve:
- Garnish the cooked salmon with chopped chives and serve warm.
Notes
- For an extra burst of flavor, consider making a double batch of the firecracker sauce. Brush the additional sauce over the salmon after baking, just before serving.
