Description

Ingredients

  • 8 oz semi-sweet chocolate, chopped
  • 3/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 tablespoons instant espresso powder
  • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • Optional: 1/2 cup chocolate chips or chopped nuts

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Line an 8×8-inch baking pan with parchment paper or grease lightly.
  2. In a saucepan over low heat, melt butter and chocolate together, stirring until smooth. Remove from heat and let cool slightly.
  3. Whisk in granulated sugar, brown sugar, eggs, vanilla, and espresso powder until combined.
  4. Stir in flour and salt until just incorporated. Fold in chocolate chips or nuts if using.
  5. Pour batter into prepared pan and smooth the top.
  6. Bake for 25–30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted near the center comes out with a few moist crumbs.
  7. Cool completely before cutting into squares.
