Description

These egg & cheese hash brown waffles are crispy on the outside, soft on the inside, and loaded with melty cheese and savory flavor. Made in a waffle maker, they’re a fun twist on classic breakfast hash browns. Great on their own or topped with a fried egg, avocado, or hot sauce!

Ingredients

  • 2 cups frozen shredded hash browns, thawed

  • 2 large eggs

  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese (or your favorite cheese)

  • 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder

  • Salt and pepper, to taste

  • Cooking spray or a little oil for greasing the waffle iron

  • Optional toppings: sour cream, green onions, avocado, hot sauce

Instructions

  • Preheat your waffle iron and lightly grease it with cooking spray or oil.

  • In a large bowl, mix together the hash browns, eggs, shredded cheese, garlic powder, salt, and pepper.

  • Scoop about 1/2 to 3/4 cup of the mixture into the center of the waffle iron and spread it out slightly.

  • Close the lid and cook for 5–7 minutes, or until golden brown and crispy.

  • Carefully remove the waffle and repeat with the remaining mixture.

  • Serve warm with your favorite toppings.

Notes

  • Make sure the hash browns are well thawed and patted dry to get a crispier waffle.

  • You can add cooked bacon bits, sausage, or diced veggies for extra flavor.

  • Leftovers reheat well in the toaster or air fryer.
