Description
This Easy Italian Baked Chicken is juicy, tender, and packed with flavor thanks to Italian herbs, garlic, and a simple olive oil marinade. It bakes up golden and delicious with minimal effort – perfect for serving with pasta, salad, or roasted veggies.
Ingredients
-
4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts (or thighs)
-
3 tablespoons olive oil
-
2 teaspoons Italian seasoning
-
2 cloves garlic, minced
-
1 teaspoon salt
-
1/2 teaspoon black pepper
-
1/2 teaspoon paprika (optional, for color)
-
1 tablespoon lemon juice or balsamic vinegar (optional, for brightness)
-
Fresh parsley or basil, chopped (for garnish)
Instructions
-
Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C). Lightly grease a baking dish or line with foil.
-
Make the marinade: In a small bowl, whisk together olive oil, Italian seasoning, garlic, salt, pepper, paprika, and lemon juice or vinegar (if using).
-
Coat the chicken: Place chicken in the baking dish and pour the marinade over it. Use your hands or a brush to coat evenly on all sides. Let it sit for 10–15 minutes if you have time.
-
Bake: Bake uncovered for 25–30 minutes, or until the internal temperature reaches 165°F (74°C) and the chicken is golden and cooked through.
-
Rest and serve: Let the chicken rest for 5 minutes before slicing. Garnish with fresh herbs and serve.
Notes
-
Add sliced cherry tomatoes or bell peppers to the pan for extra flavor.
-
Great with pasta, mashed potatoes, or over a fresh salad.
-
You can also marinate the chicken overnight for even more flavor.
-
Use bone-in chicken for juicier results—just bake 10–15 minutes longer.
