Description

This easy ground beef taco salad is a quick, flavorful meal that’s perfect for busy weeknights or casual get-togethers. With seasoned beef, crunchy lettuce, crispy tortilla chips, and your favorite toppings, it’s like a taco in salad form—fresh, filling, and totally customizable.

Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground beef

  • 1 packet (1 oz) taco seasoning mix

  • 3/4 cup water

  • 6 cups chopped romaine or iceberg lettuce

  • 1 cup cherry tomatoes, halved

  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese

  • 1/2 cup sliced black olives (optional)

  • 1/2 cup diced red onion

  • 1 cup crushed tortilla chips or corn chips

  • 1/2 cup sour cream or ranch dressing

  • 1/2 cup salsa (optional)

Instructions

  1. In a large skillet over medium heat, cook the ground beef until fully browned, about 7–8 minutes. Drain excess fat.

  2. Add taco seasoning and water to the skillet. Stir to combine and simmer for 5 minutes, until slightly thickened.

  3. In a large bowl, combine lettuce, tomatoes, cheese, olives, and onions.

  4. Add the warm seasoned beef over the salad.

  5. Top with crushed tortilla chips and your choice of sour cream, ranch, or salsa.

  6. Toss gently to combine or serve layered for a build-your-own option.

Notes

  • Use lean ground beef or substitute with ground turkey for a lighter version.

  • For extra flavor, add diced avocado, jalapeños, or corn.

  • Serve immediately for the best crunch from the chips.
