- 1 can (10.5 oz) condensed cream of mushroom soup
- 1/2 cup milk
- 1 tsp soy sauce (optional, for added depth)
- 1/4 tsp black pepper
- 1 1/2 cups crispy fried onions (store-bought)
Instructions
1. Prepare the Green Beans:
- For Fresh Green Beans: Trim the ends and blanch in boiling water for 4-5 minutes until tender-crisp. Drain and set aside.
- For Canned Green Beans: Drain and rinse under cold water.
2. Make the Sauce:
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a large bowl, whisk together the cream of mushroom soup, milk, soy sauce (if using), and black pepper until smooth.
3. Assemble the Casserole:
- Add the green beans to the sauce mixture and toss to coat evenly.
- Transfer the mixture to a 9×9-inch baking dish.
- Sprinkle 1 cup of crispy fried onions evenly over the top.
4. Bake:
- Bake in the preheated oven for 25 minutes, or until the casserole is bubbling and the onions are golden brown.
- Remove from the oven and sprinkle the remaining 1/2 cup of crispy fried onions on top. Bake for an additional 5 minutes.
5. Serve:
- Let the casserole cool for 5 minutes before serving. Enjoy as a side dish for Thanksgiving, Christmas, or any cozy dinner.
