Description

This Easy Crockpot Hot Chocolate is rich, creamy, and perfect for warming up on chilly days. Made with simple ingredients, this recipe is great for holiday gatherings, family movie nights, or any cozy occasion.

Ingredients

Units Scale
  • 1 1/2 cups heavy cream
  • 1 (14 oz) can sweetened condensed milk
  • 2 cups whole milk
  • 4 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips or chopped chocolate
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • Pinch of salt

Optional Toppings:

  • Whipped cream
  • Mini marshmallows
  • Chocolate syrup or caramel drizzle
  • Crushed candy canes

Instructions

  1. Add Ingredients to Crockpot:
    • In a 6-quart crockpot, combine the heavy cream, sweetened condensed milk, whole milk, chocolate chips, vanilla extract, and salt. Stir to combine.
  2. Cook the Hot Chocolate:
    • Cover and cook on low for 2 hours, stirring occasionally to ensure the chocolate melts evenly.
  3. Stir and Serve:
    • Once the chocolate is fully melted and the mixture is smooth, stir well. Ladle into mugs and add your favorite toppings.
  4. Keep Warm (Optional):
    • If serving over time, switch the crockpot to the “keep warm” setting and stir occasionally to prevent a skin from forming.

Notes

  • For a lighter version, use 2% milk or almond milk.
  • Add a splash of peppermint extract or cinnamon for a festive twist.
  • This recipe serves about 8 cups but can be doubled or halved as needed.
