Description

These soft, caramelized cinnamon apples are the perfect cozy treat! Enjoy them as a side dish, topping for pancakes or oatmeal, or a healthy dessert on their own.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 medium apples (Honeycrisp, Gala, or Granny Smith), peeled, cored, and sliced
  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter (or coconut oil for dairy-free)
  • 2 tablespoons brown sugar (or maple syrup/honey)
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • Pinch of salt

  • Optional: 1/4 teaspoon nutmeg for extra warmth

Instructions

  • Prepare the Apples: Peel, core, and slice apples into ¼-inch thick slices.
  • Heat the Pan: In a large skillet over medium heat, melt the butter.
  • Cook the Apples: Add apple slices, brown sugar, cinnamon, and salt. Stir to coat the apples evenly.
  • Simmer: Cook for 5–7 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the apples are soft and caramelized.

  • Finish & Serve: Stir in vanilla extract and cook for another minute. Serve warm on their own or as a topping!

Notes

  • Serving Ideas: Delicious over pancakes, waffles, oatmeal, or vanilla ice cream!
  • Make It Healthier: Swap brown sugar for honey or maple syrup.
  • Storage: Keep leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 4 days. Reheat in a skillet or microwave.
