Description
A comforting and aromatic chai latte made easily at home with black tea, spices, and frothy milk.

- 1 cup water
- 1 black tea bag or 1 tbsp loose black tea
- 1 cup whole milk (or any milk of choice)
- 1–2 tbsp honey or sugar, to taste
- 1 cinnamon stick
- 2–3 whole cloves
- 2–3 green cardamom pods, lightly crushed
- 1 small piece fresh ginger, sliced
- 1/4 tsp ground black pepper (optional)
Instructions
- In a small pot, bring the water, cinnamon stick, cloves, cardamom, ginger, and black pepper to a boil.
- Reduce heat and simmer for 5 minutes to let the spices infuse.
- Add the tea bag or loose tea and steep for 3-5 minutes, depending on desired strength.
- Meanwhile, heat the milk in a separate saucepan or froth using a frother until hot and foamy.
- Strain the spiced tea into a mug, add sweetener to taste, then pour in the hot milk.
- Stir gently and enjoy immediately.
Notes
- Adjust spices to your taste or use chai spice blend for convenience.
- For a vegan version, use almond, oat, or soy milk and sweeten with maple syrup.
- Top with extra cinnamon or nutmeg for garnish.
