Description

These Easy Brownie Truffles are a rich and indulgent treat made from fudgy brownies rolled into bite-sized balls and coated in chocolate. They’re perfect for parties, holiday gifting, or satisfying a chocolate craving!

Ingredients

Units Scale

For the truffles:

  • 1 box (18-20 oz/500 g) of brownie mix (plus ingredients listed on the package)
  • 23 tablespoons cream cheese or frosting (optional, for binding if needed)

For the coating:

  • 200 g (7 oz) semi-sweet or dark chocolate, melted
  • Sprinkles, chopped nuts, cocoa powder, or crushed cookies (optional, for garnish)

Instructions

Prepare the Brownies:

  1. Bake the brownies:
    • Prepare and bake the brownies according to the package instructions. Let them cool completely.
  2. Crumble the brownies:
    • Once cooled, crumble the brownies into a large mixing bowl. The texture should be moist and crumbly.
  3. Add binding (if needed):
    • If the brownie crumbs are too dry to hold together, mix in cream cheese or frosting, 1 tablespoon at a time, until the mixture can easily be rolled into balls.

Shape the Truffles:

  1. Roll into balls:
    • Scoop about 1 tablespoon of the brownie mixture and roll it between your hands to form a ball. Repeat until all the mixture is used.
  2. Chill the truffles:
    • Place the brownie balls on a parchment-lined tray and chill in the refrigerator for 30 minutes, or until firm.

Coat the Truffles:

  1. Melt the chocolate:
    • Melt the semi-sweet or dark chocolate in a microwave-safe bowl in 30-second intervals, stirring after each interval, until smooth.
  2. Dip the truffles:
    • Using a fork or a truffle-dipping tool, dip each brownie ball into the melted chocolate, letting the excess drip off. Place back on the parchment-lined tray.
  3. Garnish (optional):
    • While the chocolate is still wet, sprinkle with your chosen toppings, such as sprinkles, nuts, or crushed cookies.

Set and Serve:

  1. Let the coating set:
    • Allow the truffles to set at room temperature or refrigerate until the chocolate hardens.
  2. Serve:
    • Transfer the truffles to a serving platter or store in an airtight container.

Notes

  • You can use homemade brownies instead of a box mix if you prefer. Ensure they are dense and fudgy.
  • Experiment with different coatings, such as white chocolate, milk chocolate, or drizzled chocolate for a decorative effect.
  • Store truffles in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 5 days.
