Scale
- 1 sheet puff pastry (thawed according to package instructions)
- 1 (8 oz) wheel of Brie cheese
- 1/4 cup fruit preserves (apricot, raspberry, or fig work well) or honey (optional)
- 2 tbsp chopped nuts (pecans, walnuts, or almonds, optional)
- 1 large egg, beaten
- Crackers, bread slices, or apple slices for serving
Instructions
Prepare the Brie and Puff Pastry:
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- Roll out the puff pastry on a lightly floured surface to remove creases. Place the Brie wheel in the center of the pastry.
Add Fillings (Optional):
- Spread the fruit preserves or honey on top of the Brie. Sprinkle with chopped nuts, if desired.
Wrap the Brie:
- Fold the puff pastry over the Brie, trimming any excess dough and pressing the edges to seal.
- Flip the wrapped Brie seam-side down onto the prepared baking sheet.
Brush and Bake:
- Brush the top and sides of the pastry with the beaten egg for a golden finish.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 20–25 minutes, or until the puff pastry is golden brown and crispy.
Serve:
- Let the baked Brie cool for 5–10 minutes before serving. Serve warm with crackers, bread, or apple slices.
Notes
- Make it Savory: Add fresh herbs (like rosemary or thyme) or a sprinkle of garlic powder for a savory twist.
- Make Ahead: Assemble the Brie in the puff pastry up to 24 hours in advance. Store in the refrigerator and bake just before serving.
- Cheese Options: Use Camembert or a similar soft cheese as a substitute for Brie.
