Description

This Easter Chocolate Bark is a fun and festive treat that’s perfect for spring celebrations! Made with layers of rich chocolate and topped with colorful candies, sprinkles, and crunchy add-ins, this no-bake dessert is easy to make and ideal for sharing. It also makes a wonderful gift when wrapped in a cute bag or jar!

Ingredients

Scale

For the Chocolate Bark:

  • 200 g (7 oz) semi-sweet or milk chocolate, chopped (or chocolate chips)
  • 200 g (7 oz) white chocolate, chopped (or chocolate chips)

For the Toppings:

  • 1 cup pastel-colored candy-coated chocolates (like M&M’s)
  • 1/2 cup mini marshmallows (optional)
  • 1/4 cup pretzel pieces (for a salty crunch)
  • 1/4 cup colorful sprinkles (Easter-themed if available)
  • 1/4 cup mini chocolate eggs or jelly beans
  • 2 tablespoons shredded coconut (optional, for a “nest” effect)

Instructions

🍫 Prepare the Chocolate Base:

  1. Line the Baking Sheet:

    • Line a 9×13 inch baking sheet with parchment paper or a silicone mat.
  2. Melt the Chocolate:

    • For the semi-sweet/milk chocolate: Melt using a microwave in 30-second intervals, stirring in between, until smooth. Alternatively, use a double boiler on the stovetop.
    • For the white chocolate: Repeat the melting process separately.
  3. Create the Bark Base:

    • Pour the melted semi-sweet/milk chocolate onto the prepared baking sheet.
    • Spread evenly with a spatula to about 1/4 inch thick.
    • Drizzle the melted white chocolate over the top.
    • Use a toothpick or knife to swirl the chocolates together for a marbled effect.

🐣 Add the Toppings:

  1. Decorate the Bark:

    • Quickly sprinkle the candy-coated chocolates, mini marshmallows, pretzel pieces, sprinkles, mini chocolate eggs, and shredded coconut evenly over the chocolate.
    • Gently press the toppings into the chocolate to help them stick.
  2. Set the Chocolate:

    • Let the bark sit at room temperature until fully set (1-2 hours), or place it in the refrigerator for about 30 minutes to speed up the process.

🍬 Break and Serve:

  1. Break into Pieces:

    • Once the chocolate is firm, break the bark into random pieces using your hands or cut with a knife for more uniform shapes.
  2. Serving Suggestions:

    • Arrange on a colorful platter or package in gift bags for an Easter treat.

Notes

  • Storage: Store the chocolate bark in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 1 week or in the refrigerator for 2 weeks.
  • Make it Your Own: Swap in your favorite candies, nuts, or dried fruits for a personalized touch.
  • Avoid Overheating Chocolate: To prevent the chocolate from seizing, melt slowly and stir frequently.
