Ingredients
Units
Scale
- 1 (8‑oz) refrigerated crescent roll dough sheet (8 triangles)
- 4 oz cream cheese, softened (or 8 slices of deli ham and cheese)
- 2 tbsp fresh chives, finely chopped (or thinly sliced ham)
- 1 egg, beaten (for egg wash)
- Sesame seeds or black sesame/peppercorn bits, for eyes
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- Unroll crescent dough and press seams together to form a rectangle; cut into 8 equal triangles.
- If using cream cheese filling, mix with chives in a small bowl. Otherwise, place a slice of ham and cheese on each triangle.
- Place about 1 tbsp filling near the wide base of each triangle.
- Roll each triangle from the base toward the tip, curving slightly to form bunny ears at the ends.
- Place bites on the prepared baking sheet, point side down.
- Brush with beaten egg for a golden finish.
- Gently press sesame seeds or black sesame/peppercorn bits at the narrow end as bunny eyes.
- Bake for 12–15 minutes, until golden and puffed.
- Let cool 5 minutes, then serve warm or at room temperature.
Notes
- For a sweeter twist, spread a thin layer of Nutella or fruit jam instead of savory fillings.
- Bunnies are best served fresh but can be stored in an airtight container for up to 2 days.
- Use poppy seeds or mini chocolate chips for eyes if serving a sweet version.
- To prep ahead, shape bites and refrigerate, then brush and bake just before serving.
