Description

Sweet, salty, crispy, and gooey—all in one bite! This Donut Grilled Cheese with Bacon & Maple combines buttery grilled donuts, melty cheese, crispy bacon, and a drizzle of maple syrup for the ultimate comfort food. Perfect for breakfast, brunch, or an indulgent snack!

Ingredients

Scale

  • 2 glazed donuts (cut in half like a bagel)
  • 4 slices cheddar cheese (or your favorite melty cheese)
  • 4 slices cooked bacon
  • 1 tablespoon butter
  • 2 tablespoons maple syrup (plus extra for drizzling)

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Donuts – Slice each donut in half horizontally, like a bun.
  2. Layer the Sandwich – Place one slice of cheese on the bottom half of each donut. Add 2 slices of bacon, another slice of cheese, and the top half of the donut.
  3. Butter the Pan – Heat a nonstick skillet over medium-low heat and melt ½ tablespoon of butter.
  4. Grill the Sandwiches – Place the sandwiches in the pan and cook for 2-3 minutes per side, pressing gently with a spatula, until golden brown and the cheese melts. Add the remaining butter when flipping.
  5. Drizzle & Serve – Remove from heat and drizzle with maple syrup. Serve warm and enjoy!

Notes

  • Cheese Options: Try sharp cheddar, gouda, brie, or pepper jack for different flavors.
  • Crispy Bacon Hack: For extra crispy bacon, bake it in the oven at 400°F (200°C) for 15-18 minutes.
  • Sweet & Spicy Kick: Add a pinch of red pepper flakes or a drizzle of hot honey for extra flavor.

  • Best Donuts: Use glazed donuts for a sweet contrast or plain donuts for a more balanced taste.
