For the cookie “dirt”:
- 300 g (10 oz) chocolate sandwich cookies (e.g., Oreo), crushed
For the filling:
- 1 package (225 g / 8 oz) cream cheese, softened
- 1/2 cup (100 g) granulated sugar
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 2 cups (480 ml) milk
- 2 packages (90 g / 3.4 oz each) instant vanilla pudding mix
- 1 container (225 g / 8 oz) whipped topping (e.g., Cool Whip), thawed

- Chocolate shavings or sprinkles (optional)
Instructions
- Prepare the cookie “dirt”:
- Place the chocolate cookies in a food processor and pulse until finely crushed. Set aside.
- Make the pudding mixture:
- In a large bowl, whisk together the milk and vanilla pudding mix until thickened. Set aside.
- Prepare the cream cheese mixture:
- In another bowl, beat the cream cheese with the sugar and vanilla extract until smooth and creamy.
- Fold in the whipped topping until well combined.
- Combine the filling:
- Gently fold the pudding mixture into the cream cheese mixture until fully incorporated and smooth.
- Assemble the dirt cake:
- In a trifle dish, 9×13-inch pan, or individual cups, layer the crushed cookies and the pudding mixture. Start with a layer of crushed cookies, followed by a layer of pudding mixture. Repeat until all ingredients are used, ending with a cookie layer on top.
- Decorate and chill:
- Garnish with gummy worms, chocolate shavings, or sprinkles.
- Refrigerate for at least 2 hours before serving to allow the flavors to meld.
Notes
- For a chocolatey twist, use chocolate pudding instead of vanilla.
