- 2 packets (1 oz / 28 g each) chicken gravy mix
- 1 can (10.5 oz / 300 g) cream of chicken soup
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon onion powder
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 1/2 teaspoon paprika (optional)
- 1/2 cup (120 ml) sour cream or heavy cream (optional, for added creaminess)
For serving:
- Mashed potatoes, rice, or biscuits
- Fresh parsley, for garnish (optional)
Instructions
Step 1: Prepare the chicken and gravy
- Place the chicken breasts in the bottom of your crockpot.
- In a medium bowl, whisk together the chicken broth, gravy mix packets, cream of chicken soup, garlic powder, onion powder, black pepper, and paprika (if using).
- Pour the gravy mixture over the chicken, ensuring it’s well-coated.
Step 2: Cook the chicken
- Cover and cook on low for 6-7 hours or on high for 3-4 hours, until the chicken is tender and easily shreds with a fork.
Step 3: Shred the chicken
- Remove the chicken from the crockpot and shred it using two forks. Return the shredded chicken to the crockpot and stir it into the gravy.
Step 4: Add creaminess (optional)
- Stir in sour cream or heavy cream for a richer gravy, if desired. Cook on low for an additional 15-20 minutes.
Step 5: Serve
- Serve the chicken and gravy over mashed potatoes, rice, or biscuits. Garnish with fresh parsley if desired.
