Description

Crockpot Chicken and Dressing Casserole is a comforting Southern-style dish made with tender shredded chicken, savory stuffing mix, and creamy soups, slow-cooked to perfection in one easy pot.


Ingredients

  • 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
  • 1 box (6 oz) stuffing mix (such as cornbread or herb flavor)
  • 1 can (10.5 oz) cream of chicken soup
  • 1 can (10.5 oz) cream of celery soup
  • 1 cup chicken broth
  • 1/2 cup sour cream
  • 1/2 teaspoon poultry seasoning
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 tablespoon butter, cut into small pieces

Instructions

  1. Place chicken breasts in the bottom of the crockpot and season with salt, pepper, and poultry seasoning.
  2. In a medium bowl, mix cream of chicken soup, cream of celery soup, chicken broth, and sour cream until well combined.
  3. Spread the soup mixture over the chicken.
  4. Sprinkle the stuffing mix evenly over the top, then dot with butter.
  5. Cover and cook on low for 6-7 hours or on high for 3-4 hours, until the chicken is tender and fully cooked.
  6. Shred the chicken in the crockpot and mix gently with the stuffing and sauce. Serve warm.

Notes

  • Add frozen mixed vegetables or sautéed onions and celery for extra texture and flavor.
  • Use rotisserie chicken and reduce cook time if desired.
  • Leftovers can be stored in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
