Description
Crispy Oven Baked Sweet Potato Fries are a healthier alternative to traditional fries, perfectly seasoned and roasted to golden perfection for a delicious snack or side dish.
Ingredients
Scale
- 2 large sweet potatoes, peeled and cut into thin fries
- 2 tablespoons cornstarch
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/2 teaspoon smoked paprika
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Optional: fresh parsley for garnish
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 425°F (220°C). Line a large baking sheet with parchment paper.
- Place sweet potato fries in a large bowl of cold water and soak for at least 30 minutes. Drain and pat completely dry with paper towels.
- In a dry bowl, toss the fries with cornstarch until evenly coated.
- Add olive oil, garlic powder, smoked paprika, salt, and pepper. Toss until well coated.
- Spread fries in a single layer on the baking sheet, making sure they are not touching.
- Bake for 15 minutes, flip the fries, and bake for another 10-15 minutes, or until crispy and browned.
- Remove from oven, sprinkle with extra salt if desired, and garnish with fresh parsley before serving.
Notes
- Soaking the fries in water helps remove excess starch and makes them crispier.
- Don’t overcrowd the baking sheet to ensure even crisping.
- Serve with your favorite dipping sauce like garlic aioli or ketchup.
