Description

Crispy Fried Mushrooms are golden-brown bites of tender mushrooms coated in a seasoned breading and deep-fried until perfectly crunchy. They make an irresistible appetizer or snack, especially with your favorite dipping sauce.


Ingredients

  • 8 oz button or cremini mushrooms, cleaned and stems trimmed
  • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 cup breadcrumbs (panko for extra crunch)
  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder
  • 1/2 tsp paprika
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Vegetable oil, for frying
  • Optional: ranch, garlic aioli, or spicy mayo for dipping

Instructions

  1. Set up a breading station with three shallow bowls: one with flour, one with beaten eggs, and one with breadcrumbs mixed with garlic powder, paprika, salt, and pepper.
  2. Dredge each mushroom in flour, dip in egg, then coat in breadcrumb mixture, pressing to adhere.
  3. Heat about 1 inch of oil in a deep skillet to 350°F (175°C).
  4. Fry mushrooms in batches for 2–3 minutes, turning occasionally, until golden and crisp. Do not overcrowd the pan.
  5. Transfer to a paper towel-lined plate to drain excess oil. Season with a pinch of salt while hot.
  6. Serve immediately with your favorite dipping sauce.

Notes

  • For extra flavor, add Parmesan cheese or herbs to the breadcrumb mixture.
  • Use an air fryer at 400°F (200°C) for 8–10 minutes for a lighter version.
