Ingredients
Scale
- 3 large russet potatoes, peeled and shredded
- 2 tablespoons butter
- 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
Instructions
- Rinse shredded potatoes under cold water to remove excess starch. Drain and squeeze out as much water as possible using a clean towel.
- Preheat Blackstone griddle to medium-high heat.
- Mix shredded potatoes with salt and pepper in a large bowl.
- Melt butter and vegetable oil on the griddle.
- Place potatoes in a thin, even layer on the griddle and press down lightly with a spatula.
- Cook undisturbed for 5-7 minutes, or until the bottom is golden and crispy.
- Flip carefully and cook for another 5-7 minutes until the other side is crispy and golden.
- Serve hot, optionally garnished with fresh herbs or ketchup on the side.
Notes
- Dry potatoes thoroughly for maximum crispiness.
- Don’t move the potatoes too soon to allow a proper crust to form.
- Season with additional spices like paprika or garlic powder for extra flavor.
- Top with shredded cheese or cooked bacon for a loaded version.
