Description

This Crispy Air-Fried Halloumi is golden and crunchy on the outside, soft and salty on the inside, and finished with a sweet honey drizzle. Quick and easy to make, this dish is perfect as an appetizer, snack, or salad topping!

Ingredients

Units Scale
  • 8 oz halloumi cheese, cut into 1/2-inch thick slices or sticks
  • 1 tbsp olive oil (or spray oil)
  • 1/2 tsp smoked paprika
  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • 2 tbsp honey (for drizzling)
  • 1 tbsp fresh lemon juice (optional)
  • 1 tbsp chopped fresh parsley (for garnish)
  • 1/2 tsp red pepper flakes (optional, for spice)

Instructions

Step 1: Prepare the Halloumi

  1. Preheat the air fryer to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Pat halloumi slices dry with a paper towel to remove excess moisture.
  3. In a bowl, toss the halloumi with olive oil, smoked paprika, garlic powder, and black pepper until evenly coated.

Step 2: Air Fry the Halloumi

  1. Arrange the halloumi slices in a single layer in the air fryer basket.
  2. Air fry for 8-10 minutes, flipping halfway, until golden brown and crispy.

Step 3: Drizzle & Serve

  1. Transfer the crispy halloumi to a plate and drizzle with honey and lemon juice (if using).
  2. Garnish with fresh parsley and red pepper flakes.
  3. Serve immediately and enjoy on its own or with pita bread, hummus, or a fresh salad!

Notes

  • Extra Crispy: For a crunchier texture, coat halloumi lightly in panko breadcrumbs before air frying.
  • Serving Ideas: Pair with fig jam, tzatziki, or roasted vegetables.
  • Storage: Best eaten fresh but can be refrigerated for up to 2 days. Reheat in the air fryer for 3-4 minutes.
