Description

This creamy pecan praline honey butter is a decadent spread that’s perfect for slathering on biscuits, pancakes, toast, or cornbread. Made with butter, toasted pecans, honey, and a hint of brown sugar, it’s a sweet and nutty treat for breakfast, brunch, or dessert.

Ingredients

Units Scale
  • 1 cup (225 g) unsalted butter, softened
  • 1/4 cup (50 g) brown sugar
  • 1/4 cup (60 ml) honey
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon (optional)
  • 3/4 cup (75 g) toasted pecans, finely chopped

Instructions

  1. Toast the pecans:
    • Preheat a dry skillet over medium heat. Add the pecans and toast for 3–5 minutes, stirring frequently, until fragrant and lightly browned. Let cool, then chop finely.
  2. Prepare the butter mixture:
    • In a mixing bowl, beat the softened butter with a hand mixer or whisk until light and fluffy.
  3. Add the sweeteners:
    • Add the brown sugar, honey, vanilla extract, and cinnamon (if using) to the butter. Beat until well combined.
  4. Incorporate the pecans:
    • Fold in the toasted pecans with a spatula until evenly distributed throughout the butter mixture.
  5. Chill or serve:
    • Transfer the honey butter to a jar or serving dish. If you prefer a firmer texture, refrigerate for 20–30 minutes before serving.

Notes

  • Store the honey butter in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 2 weeks. Let it soften at room temperature before serving.
  • For an extra praline flavor, add a pinch of sea salt to balance the sweetness.
  • This butter makes a fantastic edible gift when stored in a decorative jar.
