Ingredients

Scale

For the Pork Chops:

  • 4 boneless pork chops (or bone-in, about 1-inch thick)
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder
  • 1/2 tsp paprika (optional, for color and depth of flavor)
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 tbsp butter

For the Creamy Garlic Sauce:

  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 cup heavy cream (or half-and-half for a lighter version)
  • 1/2 cup chicken broth (for extra flavor)
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 tsp Italian seasoning (or a mix of oregano, thyme, and basil)
  • 1/2 tsp salt (adjust to taste)
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • 1/2 tsp red pepper flakes (optional, for heat)
  • 1 tbsp butter (for extra richness)
  • 1 tbsp fresh parsley or basil, chopped (for garnish)

Instructions

Step 1: Prepare the Pork Chops

  1. Pat the pork chops dry with paper towels to ensure a good sear.
  2. Season both sides with salt, pepper, garlic powder, and paprika.

Step 2: Sear the Pork Chops

  1. Heat olive oil and butter in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
  2. Sear the pork chops for 3-4 minutes per side, until golden brown.
  3. Remove from the skillet and set aside.

Step 3: Make the Creamy Garlic Sauce

  1. In the same skillet, reduce heat to medium and add garlic. Sauté for 30 seconds until fragrant.
  2. Pour in chicken broth, scraping up any browned bits from the pan. Simmer for 2 minutes.
  3. Stir in heavy cream, Parmesan, Italian seasoning, salt, pepper, and red pepper flakes.
  4. Simmer for 3-4 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the sauce thickens.

Step 4: Finish the Dish

  1. Return the pork chops to the skillet, nestling them into the sauce.
  2. Reduce heat to low, cover, and simmer for 5 minutes, or until the pork chops reach an internal temp of 145°F (63°C).
  3. Stir in butter for an extra silky texture.

Step 5: Serve & Enjoy

  1. Garnish with fresh parsley or basil.
  2. Serve with mashed potatoes, rice, or roasted veggies!

Serving Suggestions

  • With Mashed Potatoes: Creamy potatoes are perfect for soaking up the sauce.
  • With Pasta: Toss with fettuccine or penne for a delicious meal.
  • With Roasted Veggies: Serve with asparagus, green beans, or Brussels sprouts.

Notes

  • Want it extra creamy? Add ¼ cup cream cheese to the sauce.
  • Prefer a tangy kick? Stir in 1 tsp Dijon mustard.
  • More flavor? Add mushrooms or sun-dried tomatoes to the sauce.
  • Dairy-free? Use coconut milk and nutritional yeast instead of cream and Parmesan.
