Description

This Creamy Garlic Pasta is rich, cheesy, and packed with buttery garlic flavor. It’s a quick and easy dish that comes together in 20 minutes, making it perfect for busy weeknights or a cozy meal.

Ingredients

Units Scale

  • 8 oz pasta (spaghetti, fettuccine, or penne)
  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 cup heavy cream (or half & half)
  • 1/2 cup whole milk
  • 3/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon Italian seasoning (optional)
  • 1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional, for spice)
  • 1 tablespoon chopped fresh parsley (for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Cook the pasta – Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil and cook pasta according to package instructions. Reserve ½ cup pasta water, then drain and set aside.
  2. Make the garlic sauce – In a large skillet over medium heat, melt butter. Add minced garlic and sauté for 1 minute until fragrant.
  3. Add the cream & cheese – Pour in heavy cream and milk, then whisk in Parmesan cheese, salt, pepper, Italian seasoning, and red pepper flakes. Simmer for 3-4 minutes until slightly thickened.
  4. Combine with pasta – Add the drained pasta to the sauce, tossing to coat. If the sauce is too thick, add a little reserved pasta water until desired consistency is reached.
  5. Serve & garnish – Sprinkle with fresh parsley and extra Parmesan. Enjoy warm!

Notes

  • Protein Additions: Add grilled chicken, shrimp, or bacon for a heartier meal.
  • Cheese Options: Swap Parmesan for Pecorino Romano for a sharper flavor.
  • Make It Lighter: Use half & half or whole milk instead of heavy cream.
