- 2 large cucumbers, thinly sliced
- 1/2 small red onion, thinly sliced
- 1/2 cup sour cream
- 1 tbsp mayonnaise
- 1 tbsp white vinegar or lemon juice
- 1 tsp sugar
- 1 tbsp chopped fresh dill (or 1 tsp dried dill)
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
- In a large bowl, combine sliced cucumbers and red onion.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together sour cream, mayonnaise, vinegar, sugar, dill, salt, and pepper until smooth.
- Pour the dressing over the cucumbers and onions. Toss until well coated.
- Chill in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes before serving to allow flavors to meld.
- Stir gently before serving. Garnish with extra dill if desired.
Notes
- Use English cucumbers for fewer seeds and less water content.
- Salt cucumbers beforehand and let them sit for 10 minutes, then drain to reduce excess moisture.
- Store leftovers in the refrigerator for up to 2 days.
