For the Pork Chops:
- 4 bone-in or boneless pork chops (about 1-inch thick)
- 1 tsp salt
- 1/2 tsp black pepper
- 1/2 tsp garlic powder
- 1/2 tsp paprika
- 1 tbsp olive oil
- 1 tbsp butter
For the Creamy Bacon Sauce:
- 4 slices bacon (chopped)
- 3 cloves garlic (minced)
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 1/2 cup chicken broth
- 1/2 cup Parmesan cheese (grated)
- 1/2 tsp Italian seasoning
- 1/2 tsp red pepper flakes (optional)
- 2 tbsp fresh parsley (chopped, for garnish)
Instructions
Step 1: Prepare and Season the Pork Chops
- Pat the pork chops dry with a paper towel.
- Season both sides with salt, black pepper, garlic powder, and paprika.
Step 2: Sear the Pork Chops
- Heat olive oil and butter in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
- Sear the pork chops for 3-4 minutes per side until golden brown.
- Remove from the pan and set aside (they will finish cooking in the sauce).
Step 3: Cook the Bacon
- In the same skillet, add the chopped bacon and cook until crispy.
- Remove some of the excess bacon grease, leaving about 1-2 tbsp in the pan.
Step 4: Make the Cream Sauce
- Add garlic to the bacon and sauté for 30 seconds until fragrant.
- Pour in chicken broth and heavy cream, stirring to combine.
- Stir in Parmesan cheese, Italian seasoning, and red pepper flakes (if using).
- Simmer for 2-3 minutes until the sauce thickens.
Step 5: Finish Cooking the Pork Chops
- Return the pork chops to the skillet, spooning sauce over them.
- Simmer for 3-5 minutes, or until the pork reaches an internal temperature of 145°F (63°C).
Step 6: Serve and Enjoy!
- Garnish with fresh parsley and serve with mashed potatoes, rice, or steamed vegetables.
Notes
- For extra flavor, deglaze the pan with a splash of white wine before adding the broth.
- Substitutions: Use half-and-half instead of heavy cream for a lighter version.
- Storage: Store leftovers in the fridge for up to 3 days. Reheat gently to avoid overcooking the pork.
