Scale
- 2 cans (8 ounces each) refrigerated crescent roll dough
- 16 ounces (2 packages) cream cheese, softened
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/2 cup (1 stick) unsalted butter, melted
- 1/4 cup granulated sugar (for topping)
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
Instructions
- Prepare the Baking Dish:
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Grease a 9×13-inch baking dish with cooking spray or line it with parchment paper for easy removal.
- Layer the Crescent Roll Dough:
- Unroll one can of crescent roll dough and press it into the bottom of the prepared baking dish, pinching the seams together to form an even crust.
- Make the Cream Cheese Filling:
- In a medium bowl, beat the softened cream cheese, 1 cup of sugar, and vanilla extract until smooth and creamy.
- Spread the cream cheese mixture evenly over the crescent roll crust.
- Add the Top Layer:
- Unroll the second can of crescent roll dough and lay it over the cream cheese layer. Gently press the edges to seal, but don’t worry if it’s not perfect.
- Add the Topping:
- Pour the melted butter evenly over the top layer of crescent dough.
- In a small bowl, mix the remaining 1/4 cup of sugar with the ground cinnamon. Sprinkle the cinnamon-sugar mixture evenly over the melted butter.
- Bake:
- Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes, or until the top is golden brown and crispy.
- Cool and Serve:
- Remove the dish from the oven and allow it to cool to room temperature.
- For best results, refrigerate for at least 1 hour before cutting into squares. Serve chilled or at room temperature.
Notes
- Storage: Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
- Variations: Add a layer of fruit preserves (such as strawberry or raspberry) on top of the cream cheese filling for a fruity twist.
- Serving Tip: Dust with powdered sugar before serving for an extra touch of sweetness.
