Description

This cream cheese grilled cheese is a smooth and savory twist on the original. Cream cheese adds a rich, tangy layer that pairs perfectly with melty shredded cheese and crispy golden bread. It’s a cozy, comfort-food sandwich that’s great for lunch or a late-night snack.


Ingredients

  • 4 slices sandwich bread (white, sourdough, or whole wheat)

  • 2 tbsp butter, softened

  • 1/4 cup cream cheese, softened

  • 1/2 cup shredded mozzarella or cheddar cheese

  • Optional: pinch of garlic powder or everything bagel seasoning for extra flavor

  1. Prep the Bread: Butter one side of each slice of bread.

  2. Spread Cream Cheese: On the non-buttered side of two slices, spread a layer of cream cheese.

  3. Add Shredded Cheese: Sprinkle shredded cheese over the cream cheese. Add a dash of seasoning if you like.

  4. Assemble: Top with remaining bread slices, buttered side out.

  5. Grill: Heat a skillet over medium heat. Grill sandwiches 3-4 minutes per side, until golden brown and the cheese is fully melted.
