A flaky and creamy Cream Cheese Danish pastry that’s perfect for breakfast or a sweet snack. Made with puff pastry and a rich cream cheese filling, it’s simple yet indulgent.

- 1 sheet puff pastry, thawed
- 4 oz cream cheese, softened
- 2 tbsp granulated sugar
- 1/2 tsp vanilla extract
- 1 egg, beaten (for egg wash)
- 1/4 cup powdered sugar (for glaze)
- 1–2 tsp milk (for glaze)
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- In a bowl, mix cream cheese, granulated sugar, and vanilla extract until smooth.
- Unfold puff pastry and cut into 4 squares. Slightly score a border around each square, being careful not to cut all the way through.
- Spoon the cream cheese mixture into the center of each square.
- Brush edges with beaten egg for a golden finish.
- Bake for 15-18 minutes or until puffed and golden brown.
- Mix powdered sugar and milk to make a glaze. Drizzle over cooled danishes.
Notes
- Ensure puff pastry is thawed but still cold for best results.
- Customize with fruit preserves or fresh berries on top of the cream cheese filling.
- Best enjoyed fresh, but can be stored in the fridge for up to 2 days.
