Description

Cranberry Apple Crisp is a warm and comforting dessert that combines tart cranberries and sweet apples under a buttery, spiced oat topping, perfect for fall and holiday gatherings.

Ingredients

Units Scale
  • 4 cups apples, peeled and sliced
  • 2 cups fresh or frozen cranberries
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • 1 cup old-fashioned oats
  • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9×9 inch baking dish.
  2. In a large bowl, combine sliced apples, cranberries, granulated sugar, lemon juice, cinnamon, and nutmeg. Mix well and pour into the prepared dish.
  3. In another bowl, mix oats, flour, brown sugar, salt, and melted butter until crumbly.
  4. Sprinkle the oat mixture evenly over the fruit mixture.
  5. Bake for 40–45 minutes, or until the topping is golden and the fruit is bubbling.
  6. Let cool slightly before serving. Best served warm with a scoop of vanilla ice cream or whipped cream.

Notes

  • Use a mix of sweet and tart apples like Honeycrisp and Granny Smith for depth of flavor.
  • Frozen cranberries can be used without thawing.
  • Add chopped nuts to the topping for extra crunch.
