Cottage Cheese Chips are a unique, crunchy snack made simply with cottage cheese and seasonings. Low-carb and high-protein, these chips are perfect for dipping, adding to salads, or enjoying on their own!

Ingredients

  • 1 cup small curd cottage cheese (well-drained)
  • ¼ tsp garlic powder
  • ¼ tsp onion powder
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • Olive oil spray (optional, for added crispness)

Optional Flavor Variations:

  1. Cheddar Chips: Add ½ cup shredded cheddar cheese for a cheesy twist.
  2. Sour Cream & Onion: Add ½ tbsp sour cream and extra onion powder.
  3. Chili Lime: Add ½ tsp chili lime seasoning and a sprinkle of cayenne for a kick.

Instructions

  1. Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper and lightly spray with olive oil to prevent sticking.
  2. Prepare the Cottage Cheese: Drain any excess liquid from the cottage cheese to ensure crispiness. In a bowl, mix the cottage cheese with garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper (and any additional seasonings for flavor variations).
  3. Form the Chips: Using a spoon, scoop small mounds of the cottage cheese mixture onto the baking sheet, spacing them about 2 inches apart. Gently flatten each scoop to about 0.2 inches (0.5 cm) thick.
  4. Bake: Place the baking sheet in the oven and bake for 20–25 minutes, or until the chips are golden and crispy. For extra crunch, flip the chips halfway through the baking time.
  5. Cool and Serve: Let the chips cool on the baking sheet for 10–15 minutes to allow them to firm up further. Enjoy immediately or store for later.

Microwave Option:

  • Scoop and flatten the cottage cheese on a parchment-lined microwave-safe plate. Microwave on 50% power for 3-5 minutes, or until chips are dry and lightly browned. Let cool before serving.

Notes

 

  • Storage: Store in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 2 days. Reheat in a preheated oven at 350°F (175°C) for a few minutes to restore crispness.
  • Air Fryer Option: Air fry at 350°F for 10–12 minutes, flipping halfway for even crisping.
