- 1 cup strong brewed coffee or espresso
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 1/4 cup brown sugar
- 2 tbsp unsalted butter
- 1 tbsp cornstarch
- 2 tbsp cold water
- 1/2 tsp vanilla extract
- Pinch of salt
Instructions
- In a small saucepan, combine brewed coffee, granulated sugar, and brown sugar over medium heat. Stir until sugars are dissolved.
- Bring mixture to a gentle simmer and cook for 5-7 minutes to slightly reduce.
- In a small bowl, mix cornstarch with cold water until smooth. Slowly whisk into the simmering coffee sauce.
- Continue cooking, stirring constantly, until sauce thickens to desired consistency, about 2-3 minutes.
- Remove from heat and stir in butter, vanilla extract, and a pinch of salt until smooth and glossy.
- Serve warm or let cool. Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 1 week.
