- 1 lb ground beef
- 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
- 1/4 cup milk
- 1 large egg
- 1/4 cup finely chopped onion
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- Salt and pepper, to taste
- 1 tablespoon vegetable oil (for browning)
- 1 cup chili sauce
- 1 cup grape jelly
- 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- In a large bowl, combine ground beef, breadcrumbs, milk, egg, chopped onion, garlic powder, salt, and pepper. Mix until just combined.
- Form mixture into small 1-inch meatballs and place on the prepared baking sheet.
- Bake for 15–18 minutes or until cooked through and browned.
- While the meatballs are baking, combine chili sauce, grape jelly, and Worcestershire sauce in a large saucepan over medium heat. Stir until smooth and heated through.
- Add the cooked meatballs to the sauce and stir to coat evenly. Simmer for 10–15 minutes, stirring occasionally.
- Serve warm with toothpicks for easy party snacking.
Notes
- You can use frozen pre-cooked meatballs as a shortcut—just heat them in the sauce.
- Make ahead and keep warm in a slow cooker for serving.
- Try switching grape jelly with cranberry sauce or apricot preserves for a twist.
