Description

Cocktail Meatballs are bite-sized savory meatballs simmered in a sweet and tangy sauce, perfect for parties, potlucks, and holiday gatherings.

Ingredients

Units Scale
  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1/4 cup milk
  • 1 large egg
  • 1/4 cup finely chopped onion
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • 1 tablespoon vegetable oil (for browning)
  • 1 cup chili sauce
  • 1 cup grape jelly
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a large bowl, combine ground beef, breadcrumbs, milk, egg, chopped onion, garlic powder, salt, and pepper. Mix until just combined.
  3. Form mixture into small 1-inch meatballs and place on the prepared baking sheet.
  4. Bake for 15–18 minutes or until cooked through and browned.
  5. While the meatballs are baking, combine chili sauce, grape jelly, and Worcestershire sauce in a large saucepan over medium heat. Stir until smooth and heated through.
  6. Add the cooked meatballs to the sauce and stir to coat evenly. Simmer for 10–15 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  7. Serve warm with toothpicks for easy party snacking.

Notes

  • You can use frozen pre-cooked meatballs as a shortcut—just heat them in the sauce.
  • Make ahead and keep warm in a slow cooker for serving.
  • Try switching grape jelly with cranberry sauce or apricot preserves for a twist.
