For the Cloud Bread Base:
- 3 large eggs, separated
- 3 tablespoons cream cheese (softened) or Greek yogurt
- 1/4 teaspoon cream of tartar
- 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder (optional, for flavor)
- 1/4 teaspoon Italian seasoning (optional)
For the Toppings:
- 1/4 cup (60ml) pizza sauce
- 1/2 cup (50g) shredded mozzarella cheese
- Toppings of choice (pepperoni, sliced vegetables, cooked chicken, etc.)
Instructions
1. Preheat the Oven:
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or a silicone baking mat.
2. Prepare the Cloud Bread Batter:
- In a clean bowl, beat the egg whites and cream of tartar with an electric mixer until stiff peaks form.
- In a separate bowl, mix the egg yolks, cream cheese, garlic powder, and Italian seasoning until smooth.
- Gently fold the beaten egg whites into the yolk mixture in thirds, being careful not to deflate the batter.
3. Shape and Bake the Cloud Bread Base:
- Spoon the cloud bread batter onto the prepared baking sheet, spreading it into a pizza shape (about 1/4-inch thick).
- Bake for 12–15 minutes, or until the base is golden brown and set.
4. Add the Toppings:
- Remove the base from the oven and spread the pizza sauce evenly over the top.
- Sprinkle with mozzarella cheese and add your desired toppings.
5. Bake Again:
- Return the pizza to the oven and bake for another 5–7 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
6. Serve:
- Let the pizza cool slightly before slicing. Serve warm and enjoy!
Notes
- Cloud bread is naturally gluten-free and low-carb, making it keto-friendly.
- For extra crispiness, bake the base for an additional 2–3 minutes before adding toppings.
- Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 2 days. Reheat in the oven for best results.
