Description

These M&M cookie bars are thick, chewy, and packed with colorful chocolate candies! They’re perfect for parties, lunchbox treats, or anytime you need an easy dessert.


Ingredients

  • 1 cup (2 sticks) unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 cup brown sugar, packed
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 1/2 cups M&M’s (plus extra for topping)
  • 1/2 cup chocolate chips (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat & Prepare Pan:

    • Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
    • Grease or line a 9×13-inch baking pan with parchment paper.
  2. Mix Wet Ingredients:

    • In a large bowl, whisk together melted butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar until smooth.
    • Add eggs and vanilla extract, mixing until well combined.
  3. Combine Dry Ingredients:

    • In a separate bowl, whisk flour, baking soda, and salt.
    • Gradually add dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, stirring until just combined.
  4. Fold in M&M’s & Chocolate Chips:

    • Gently fold in M&M’s and chocolate chips.
  5. Bake the Cookie Bars:

    • Spread the dough evenly into the prepared pan.
    • Sprinkle extra M&M’s on top for a colorful finish.
    • Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until the edges are golden brown and a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
  6. Cool & Serve:

  • Want thicker bars? Use an 8×8-inch pan and increase bake time by 5-7 minutes.
