- 3 large eggs
- 1/2 cup milk
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1 tsp ground cinnamon

- 2 tbsp butter (for cooking)

- 1 tsp ground cinnamon (for coating)
- Maple syrup, powdered sugar, or fresh fruit for serving (optional)
Instructions
- In a shallow bowl, whisk together eggs, milk, vanilla, 1 tsp cinnamon, and salt.
- In another bowl, mix 1/4 cup sugar with 1 tsp cinnamon for coating. Set aside.
- Dip each slice of bread into the egg mixture, soaking both sides well but not overly soggy.
- Heat a nonstick skillet or griddle over medium heat and melt a bit of butter.
- Cook bread slices for 2–3 minutes per side or until golden and firm.
- Immediately press or sprinkle both sides of the cooked French toast into the cinnamon sugar mixture.
- Serve warm with maple syrup, powdered sugar, or fruit if desired.
Notes
- Use slightly stale bread for better texture and soak absorption.
- Try adding a splash of orange juice or zest for a citrusy twist.
- Leftovers can be reheated in a toaster or oven.
