Description

These Cinnamon-Sugar Air Fryer Banana Chips are a quick, healthy, and delicious snack! Lightly sweetened and perfectly crisp, they’re a great alternative to store-bought chips. Perfect for on-the-go snacking or a guilt-free treat at home.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 medium bananas, firm but ripe
  • 1 tablespoon coconut oil (or melted butter)
  • 1 tablespoon granulated sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Bananas
    • Peel the bananas and slice them into thin, even slices (about 1/8 inch thick) using a sharp knife or mandoline slicer.
  2. Coat with Cinnamon-Sugar
    • In a small bowl, mix the sugar and ground cinnamon together.
    • Lightly brush both sides of the banana slices with coconut oil, then sprinkle the cinnamon-sugar mixture evenly over both sides.
  3. Arrange in the Air Fryer
    • Place the banana slices in a single layer in the air fryer basket. Make sure the slices don’t overlap to allow even cooking. You may need to work in batches.
  4. Cook the Banana Chips
    • Set the air fryer to 300°F (150°C) and cook for 10–15 minutes, flipping the banana slices halfway through.
    • Check for doneness after 12 minutes; they should be golden and slightly crisp. The chips will continue to crisp as they cool.
  5. Cool and Serve
    • Remove the banana chips from the air fryer and let them cool on a wire rack. Serve immediately or store in an airtight container for up to 3 days.

Notes

  • For best results, use bananas that are firm and just ripe. Overripe bananas will be too soft.
  • Adjust the sugar and cinnamon to taste or replace the sugar with a sugar substitute for a healthier option.
  • If your banana chips aren’t crisping, increase the cooking time in 2-minute increments, checking frequently to prevent burning.
