Description
Cinnamon Rolls are soft, fluffy pastries swirled with a buttery cinnamon-sugar filling and topped with a rich cream cheese or vanilla glaze, perfect for breakfast or a sweet treat.

- 1 cup warm milk (110°F/45°C)
- 2 1/4 tsp active dry yeast
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 1/3 cup unsalted butter, melted
- 2 large eggs
- 4 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 tsp salt
- 1/2 cup brown sugar (for filling)
- 2 tbsp ground cinnamon (for filling)
- 1/4 cup unsalted butter, softened (for filling)
- 4 oz cream cheese, softened (for glaze)
- 1/4 cup unsalted butter, softened (for glaze)
- 1 to 1 1/2 cups powdered sugar (for glaze)
- 1/2 tsp vanilla extract (for glaze)
- 2–3 tbsp milk (for glaze)
Instructions
- In a large bowl, mix warm milk and yeast. Let sit for 5–10 minutes until frothy.
- Add sugar, melted butter, eggs, and salt. Mix well, then gradually add flour to form a soft dough.
- Knead dough for 5–7 minutes until smooth and elastic. Place in a greased bowl, cover, and let rise for 1 hour or until doubled in size.
- In a small bowl, mix brown sugar and cinnamon for the filling.
- Roll out dough into a 16×12-inch rectangle. Spread with softened butter, then sprinkle evenly with the cinnamon sugar mixture.
- Roll up dough tightly from the long side and slice into 12 equal rolls.
- Place rolls in a greased 9×13-inch baking dish. Cover and let rise for 30–45 minutes.
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Bake rolls for 20–25 minutes, until golden brown.
- While baking, prepare glaze: beat cream cheese and butter until smooth, add powdered sugar, vanilla, and milk to desired consistency.
- Spread glaze over warm rolls before serving.
Notes
- You can prepare the rolls the night before and refrigerate before the second rise.
- Use dental floss to cut clean cinnamon roll slices from the dough log.
- Store leftovers in an airtight container and reheat gently before serving.
