Description

This Cilantro Lime Honey Garlic Salmon is a flavorful and easy-to-make dish that combines the zesty freshness of lime, the sweetness of honey, and the savory punch of garlic. It’s pan-seared to perfection and finished in the oven for a meal that’s perfect for weeknights or special occasions.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 salmon fillets (6 ounces each), skin on or off
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 3 tablespoons honey
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • Juice and zest of 2 limes
  • 1 tablespoon soy sauce
  • 1/4 teaspoon smoked paprika (optional, for extra flavor)
  • Salt and black pepper, to taste
  • 2 tablespoons chopped fresh cilantro

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Salmon
    • Pat the salmon fillets dry with a paper towel and season both sides with salt, pepper, and smoked paprika (if using).
  2. Make the Sauce
    • In a small bowl, whisk together the honey, minced garlic, lime juice, lime zest, and soy sauce.
  3. Sear the Salmon
    • Heat the olive oil in a large, oven-safe skillet over medium-high heat. Add the salmon fillets, skin-side down, and cook for 3–4 minutes, or until the skin is crispy (if using skin-on fillets). Flip the salmon and cook for another 2 minutes.
  4. Add the Sauce
    • Reduce the heat to medium and pour the honey garlic lime sauce over the salmon. Spoon the sauce over the fillets to coat them evenly.
  5. Finish in the Oven
    • Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C). Transfer the skillet to the oven and bake for 5–7 minutes, or until the salmon is cooked through and flakes easily with a fork.
  6. Garnish and Serve
    • Remove the skillet from the oven and sprinkle the salmon with fresh cilantro. Serve hot with extra sauce spooned over the top.

Notes

  • For a complete meal, serve with rice, quinoa, or roasted vegetables.
  • If you don’t have an oven-safe skillet, transfer the salmon to a baking dish after searing.
  • For extra heat, add a pinch of red pepper flakes to the sauce.
