Description

Christmas Sugar Cookie Bites are adorable, bite-sized treats that bring holiday cheer! With soft sugar cookie dough and festive sprinkles, these mini cookies are perfect for holiday gatherings, gift-giving, or just a fun seasonal snack.

Ingredients

Units Scale
  • 1 cup (230g) unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 cup (200g) granulated sugar
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1/2 tsp almond extract (optional, for extra flavor)
  • 2 1/2 cups (310g) all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 tsp baking powder
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • Red, green, and white sprinkles or nonpareils

Instructions

  • Preheat the Oven:

    • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or a silicone baking mat.
  • Make the Cookie Dough:

    • In a large bowl, beat the softened butter and sugar together until light and fluffy, about 2-3 minutes.
    • Add the egg, vanilla extract, and almond extract (if using), and mix until well combined.
    • In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined.
  • Shape the Cookies:

    • Roll the dough into small balls, about 1/2 inch in diameter (about 1 teaspoon of dough per ball).
    • Roll each ball in the red, green, and white sprinkles, pressing gently so the sprinkles stick.
  • Bake:

    • Place the cookie balls on the prepared baking sheet, about 1 inch apart.
    • Bake for 8-10 minutes, or until the edges are set but the centers are still soft (do not overbake).
    • Let the cookies cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely.
  • Serve:

    • Serve your Christmas Sugar Cookie Bites or store them in a festive jar for gifting!

Notes

  • Add color: You can add a few drops of food coloring to the dough for more festive colors.
  • Make it fancy: Drizzle cooled cookie bites with white or dark chocolate for extra flavor.
  • Storage: Store in an airtight container at room temperature for up to a week or freeze for up to 2 months.
