- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 2 cups (250 g) all-purpose flour
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 cup (40 g) holiday sprinkles
Instructions
1. Preheat the oven
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Line two baking sheets with parchment paper or silicone baking mats.
2. Make the dough
- In a large mixing bowl, beat the softened butter and powdered sugar together until smooth and creamy.
- Mix in the vanilla extract.
- Add the flour and salt, mixing just until the dough comes together. Do not overmix.
- Gently fold in the holiday sprinkles, ensuring they’re evenly distributed throughout the dough.
3. Shape the cookie bites
- Roll the dough into small balls (about the size of a marble or 1/2-inch diameter).
- Place the dough balls on the prepared baking sheets, spacing them about 1 inch apart.
4. Bake
- Bake in the preheated oven for 8–10 minutes, or until the edges are just starting to turn golden.
5. Cool and serve
- Let the cookies cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes, then transfer them to a wire rack to cool completely.
- Store in an airtight container, or package them in decorative tins for gifting.
Notes
- Make-ahead: The dough can be prepared and stored in the refrigerator for up to 2 days before baking.
- Storage: Store the cookies in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 1 week, or freeze for up to 3 months.
