Ingredients

Units Scale

Serves 8-10

  • For the coffee base:
    • 4 cups (960 ml) strong brewed coffee, cooled
    • 2 cups (480 ml) milk (whole or 2%)
    • 1 cup (240 ml) heavy cream
    • 1/2 cup (100 g) granulated sugar (adjust to taste)
    • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
    • 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon (optional)
  • For the chocolate addition:
    • 1/2 cup (120 ml) chocolate syrup
    • 1/4 cup (20 g) cocoa powder, sifted
  • For serving:
    • Whipped cream (optional)
    • Chocolate shavings, crushed candy canes, or sprinkles for garnish

Instructions

  1. Prepare the coffee base:
    • In a large bowl or pitcher, mix the brewed coffee, milk, heavy cream, sugar, vanilla extract, and cinnamon (if using) until the sugar is fully dissolved.
  2. Add the chocolate:
    • Stir in the chocolate syrup and sifted cocoa powder. Whisk well to ensure the cocoa powder is evenly mixed.
  3. Chill or heat:
    • For a chilled punch: Refrigerate for at least 1 hour before serving.
    • For a warm punch: Transfer the mixture to a slow cooker or large saucepan and heat on low, stirring occasionally, until warm but not boiling.
  4. Serve:
    • Ladle the punch into mugs or punch cups. Top with whipped cream and garnish with chocolate shavings, crushed candy canes, or sprinkles for a festive touch.

Notes

  • Adjust the sweetness by adding more or less sugar, depending on your preference.
  • For an adult twist, add 1/2 cup (120 ml) of coffee liqueur or Irish cream before serving.
  • This punch can be made ahead of time and stored in the refrigerator for up to 2 days. Reheat gently before serving.
