Description

This isn’t your average BLT—this chopped version blends crispy bacon, fresh lettuce, and juicy tomatoes with creamy mayo for a sandwich filling that’s easy to eat and absolutely packed with flavor. Serve it on toasted sub rolls or in lettuce wraps for a lighter twist!

Ingredients

  • 12 oz bacon

  • 1 heart of romaine lettuce, chopped

  • 2 small tomatoes (or 1 large), diced

  • 2-4 tbsp mayonnaise (to taste)

  • 4 sub rolls or sandwich buns, split and toasted

Instructions

  1. Cook the bacon:
In a skillet over medium heat, cook bacon until crisp. Drain on paper towels and let cool, then chop into small pieces.

  2. Chop and mix the filling:
On a large cutting board or in a big bowl, combine chopped bacon, lettuce, and tomatoes. Add mayo and gently mix everything together until evenly coated.

  3. Toast the rolls:
Toast sub rolls in a skillet or under a broiler until golden brown.

  4. Assemble:
Load the chopped BLT mix onto each toasted roll. Serve immediately while it’s fresh and crunchy!

Notes

  • Add-ins: Try avocado, shredded cheddar, or a drizzle of hot sauce.

  • Lighten it up: Use Greek yogurt in place of mayo, or serve it in lettuce cups instead of bread.

  • Make it a salad: Skip the bread and serve the chopped mix over a bed of greens with extra dressing.
