Chocolate Peanut Butter Balls are a classic no-bake treat made with creamy peanut butter, powdered sugar, and butter, then dipped in a rich chocolate coating. These bite-sized delights are perfect for holidays, parties, or any time you crave a sweet and salty snack.

Ingredients

Units Scale

For the Filling

  • 1 cup creamy peanut butter
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 2 cups powdered sugar
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract

For the Chocolate Coating

  • 2 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 2 tbsp coconut oil or vegetable shortening

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Filling:
    • In a large bowl, combine peanut butter, butter, powdered sugar, and vanilla extract. Mix until smooth and well combined. The mixture should be thick but pliable.
  2. Form the Balls:
    • Roll the mixture into 1-inch balls (about the size of a large marble) and place them on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
    • Refrigerate for 30 minutes to 1 hour, or until firm.
  3. Melt the Chocolate:
    • In a microwave-safe bowl, combine the chocolate chips and coconut oil. Microwave in 30-second intervals, stirring after each, until smooth and melted.
  4. Dip the Balls:
    • Using a fork or a toothpick, dip each peanut butter ball into the melted chocolate, ensuring it is fully coated.
    • Place the coated balls back on the parchment-lined baking sheet.
  5. Set the Chocolate:
    • Refrigerate the chocolate-covered balls for 30 minutes, or until the chocolate has hardened.
  6. Serve and Enjoy:
    • Transfer the peanut butter balls to an airtight container. Store in the refrigerator for up to 2 weeks or freeze for up to 3 months.

Notes

  • For extra texture, add crushed graham crackers or rice cereal to the peanut butter mixture.
  • Use dark chocolate or white chocolate for a fun twist.
  • Drizzle extra melted chocolate over the top for decoration before chilling.
