Description

Chocolate Ganache Truffles are rich, creamy confections made from a simple blend of chocolate and cream. These indulgent bite-sized treats are perfect for gifting or serving at parties and can be customized with various coatings.

Ingredients

Units Scale
  • 8 oz semi-sweet or dark chocolate (finely chopped)
  • 1/2 cup heavy cream
  • 1 tablespoon unsalted butter (optional, for extra richness)
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • Pinch of salt
  • Cocoa powder, chopped nuts, shredded coconut, or melted chocolate for coating (optional)

Instructions

  1. Place chopped chocolate in a heatproof bowl.
  2. In a small saucepan, heat the heavy cream until just simmering (do not boil).
  3. Pour the hot cream over the chocolate and let sit for 2-3 minutes to melt.
  4. Add butter, vanilla extract, and salt. Stir until smooth and glossy.
  5. Cover and refrigerate the ganache for at least 1-2 hours or until firm enough to scoop.
  6. Using a spoon or melon baller, scoop and roll ganache into 1-inch balls.
  7. Roll truffles in cocoa powder, nuts, coconut, or dip in melted chocolate as desired.
  8. Place on a parchment-lined tray and chill until firm. Store in the fridge until ready to serve.

Notes

  • Use high-quality chocolate for the best flavor and texture.
  • Truffles can be flavored with liqueurs or extracts like peppermint or orange.
  • Store in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 2 weeks.
