Description

A rich and gooey dessert made by layering chocolate cake mix, caramel, and butter—effortless to prepare and perfect for chocolate lovers.

Ingredients

Units Scale
  • 1 box (15.25 oz) chocolate cake mix
  • 1 can (12 oz) evaporated milk
  • 1 jar (12 oz) caramel sauce
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 1/2 cup chopped pecans (optional)
  • Nonstick cooking spray

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and lightly grease a 9×13 inch baking dish with nonstick cooking spray.
  2. Pour half of the chocolate cake mix evenly into the prepared baking dish.
  3. Drizzle half of the caramel sauce and half of the evaporated milk over the cake mix.
  4. Sprinkle half of the chocolate chips and optional chopped pecans on top.
  5. Repeat layers with remaining cake mix, caramel sauce, evaporated milk, and chocolate chips.
  6. Drizzle melted butter evenly over the top.
  7. Bake for 40–45 minutes, or until the top is set and edges are bubbly.
  8. Let cool for 15 minutes before serving. Serve warm for best texture and flavor.

Notes

  • Use high-quality caramel sauce for a richer flavor.
  • Serve with vanilla ice cream for an indulgent treat.
  • To make it nut-free, simply omit the pecans.
