Description

These crispy, chocolaty biscuits are perfect with a cup of tea or coffee. They’re easy to make, rich in chocolate flavor, and have a slightly crunchy texture with a melt-in-your-mouth finish.

Ingredients

Units Scale

  • 1 cup (125g) all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 cup (25g) cocoa powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup (115g) unsalted butter, softened
  • 1/2 cup (100g) granulated sugar
  • 1 egg
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 3 ounces (85g) dark chocolate, melted

Instructions

  • Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  • Mix dry ingredients: In a bowl, whisk together flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, and salt.
  • Cream butter and sugar: In another bowl, beat the butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
  • Add egg and vanilla: Mix in the egg and vanilla extract until well combined.
  • Incorporate dry ingredients: Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture and mix until a dough forms.
  • Shape the biscuits: Roll the dough into small balls and flatten them slightly onto the baking sheet.
  • Bake for 10–12 minutes, or until the edges are firm.
  • Cool and dip in chocolate: Let the biscuits cool completely, then dip half of each biscuit in melted dark chocolate. Let set on a wire rack.
  • Enjoy!

Notes

  • For extra crunch, add ¼ cup (30g) chopped nuts.
  • Swap dark chocolate for milk or white chocolate for a sweeter taste.
  • Store in an airtight container for up to a week.
