Description

This is the official Chipotle guacamole recipe! Made with fresh, simple ingredients, it’s creamy, zesty, and full of flavor—perfect with chips, on tacos, or as a topping for your favorite burrito bowl.

Ingredients

  • 2 ripe Hass avocados

  • 2 teaspoons lime juice (freshly squeezed)

  • 2 tablespoons finely chopped red onion

  • 1 tablespoon chopped fresh cilantro

  • 1/4 cup finely chopped jalapeño (including seeds, or to taste)

  • 1/4 teaspoon kosher salt (or to taste)

Instructions

  1. Cut the avocados in half and remove the pits. Scoop the flesh into a medium bowl.

  2. Add the lime juice and salt. Mash the avocado until mostly smooth with some small chunks remaining.

  3. Fold in the red onion, cilantro, and jalapeño.

  4. Taste and adjust seasoning with more salt or lime juice if needed.

  5. Serve immediately, or cover tightly with plastic wrap (pressed directly onto the guac) and refrigerate until ready to use.

Notes

  • Use ripe avocados for the best creamy texture—look for ones that yield slightly to gentle pressure.

  • For extra kick, add more jalapeño or a dash of hot sauce.

  • This guacamole is best fresh but can be stored in the fridge for up to 1 day.
