Description
This is the official Chipotle guacamole recipe! Made with fresh, simple ingredients, it’s creamy, zesty, and full of flavor—perfect with chips, on tacos, or as a topping for your favorite burrito bowl.
Ingredients
-
2 ripe Hass avocados
-
2 teaspoons lime juice (freshly squeezed)
-
2 tablespoons finely chopped red onion
-
1 tablespoon chopped fresh cilantro
-
1/4 cup finely chopped jalapeño (including seeds, or to taste)
-
1/4 teaspoon kosher salt (or to taste)
Instructions
-
Cut the avocados in half and remove the pits. Scoop the flesh into a medium bowl.
-
Add the lime juice and salt. Mash the avocado until mostly smooth with some small chunks remaining.
-
Fold in the red onion, cilantro, and jalapeño.
-
Taste and adjust seasoning with more salt or lime juice if needed.
-
Serve immediately, or cover tightly with plastic wrap (pressed directly onto the guac) and refrigerate until ready to use.
Notes
-
Use ripe avocados for the best creamy texture—look for ones that yield slightly to gentle pressure.
-
For extra kick, add more jalapeño or a dash of hot sauce.
-
This guacamole is best fresh but can be stored in the fridge for up to 1 day.
