Caramel Apple Slices are an easy, mess-free twist on classic caramel apples. Sliced apples are dipped in creamy caramel and decorated with a variety of toppings, making them a fun, customizable treat that’s perfect for kids and adults alike. Great for fall gatherings or as a simple snack with a festive touch!

  • 3 large apples (Granny Smith, Honeycrisp, or Gala work well)
  • 1 package (11 oz) soft caramel candies, unwrapped
  • 2 tbsp heavy cream (or milk)
  • Wooden sticks or skewers for dipping

  • Crushed nuts (peanuts, almonds, or pecans)
  • Mini marshmallows
  • Sprinkles
  • Crushed graham crackers
  • Sea salt

Instructions

 Prepare the Apples:

  1. Wash and dry the apples thoroughly to ensure the caramel sticks.
  2. Slice each apple into 1/2-inch thick rounds. Use a paring knife or small cookie cutter to remove the seeds and core from the center of each slice.
  3. Insert a wooden stick or skewer into each apple slice.

2. Melt the Caramel:

  1. In a microwave-safe bowl, combine the unwrapped caramel candies and heavy cream. Microwave in 20-second intervals, stirring each time, until the caramel is smooth and fully melted.
  2. Let the caramel cool slightly (1–2 minutes) to thicken for better coating.

3. Dip and Decorate:

  1. Dip each apple slice halfway into the melted caramel, allowing any excess to drip off.
  2. Immediately sprinkle or dip the caramel-covered apple slices into your desired toppings.
  3. Place the slices on a parchment-lined baking sheet and let the caramel set at room temperature or in the refrigerator for a quicker set.

4. Serve and Enjoy:

  1. Once the caramel is set, serve immediately or store in the refrigerator for up to 1 day.

Notes

  • For best results, dry the apple slices well before dipping to prevent the caramel from sliding off.
  • Feel free to experiment with toppings or add a drizzle of melted chocolate over the caramel for extra flavor!
