- 3 cups cooked chicken, shredded or cubed
- 4 cups fresh broccoli florets (or 1 bag frozen, thawed and drained)
- 1 can (10.5 oz) cream of chicken soup
- 1/2 cup sour cream
- 1/2 cup milk
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 1 1/2 cups shredded cheddar cheese, divided
- 1/2 cup breadcrumbs or crushed crackers (optional topping)
- 1 tablespoon melted butter (for topping)
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C) and lightly grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.
- Steam or blanch broccoli for 3–4 minutes until slightly tender but still bright green. Drain and set aside.
- In a large bowl, mix cream of chicken soup, sour cream, milk, garlic powder, salt, and pepper.
- Add the cooked chicken, broccoli, and 1 cup of cheddar cheese. Stir to combine.
- Pour the mixture into the prepared baking dish and spread evenly.
- Top with remaining 1/2 cup cheddar cheese.
- If using, mix breadcrumbs with melted butter and sprinkle over the top.
- Bake for 25–30 minutes, or until bubbly and golden brown.
- Let sit 5 minutes before serving.

- Use rotisserie chicken for a quick prep option.
- Add cooked rice or pasta to make it a complete one-dish meal.
- For a lighter version, use low-fat sour cream and cheese.
- This dish freezes well and can be reheated in the oven.
